Co-optimization of decarbonized operation of coal-fired power plants and seasonal storage based on green ammonia co-firing

چکیده

Coal-fired power plants (CFPP) can provide significant inertia and flexibility support for systems with a high share of renewable energy (RE). The ammonia–coal co-firing technology effectively reduce carbon emissions (CE) from CFPP. We propose low-carbon supply multi-timescale storage system in combination this technology. consists batteries, fuel cells the CFPP equipped co-combustion module. It also cope short long term fluctuations RE. use Mixed Integer Linear Programming method to construct an optimization model system. then set up six sub-cases according Texas, USA. Based on weekly annual simulations these cases, we analyze economic environmental performances proposed different RE shares, as well exploring characteristics methods. Compared batteries or only scenarios, configured green ammonia significantly total operating cost (TOC), CE curtailment. rolling horizon simulate calculate distribution levels throughout year. are spring autumn low summer. Finally, sensitivity efficiency analysis is carried out. As far allows, higher maximum mixing ratio, lower TOC, This phenomenon more at share. overall synthesis combustion generation around 13.92%. work synergy improve marginal long-term storage.
